初めて見る小さいタカ科の鳥 (A new small hawk for me)

• 2015年5月2日、ルケ市ニュワス公園(Parque Ñu Guazu)に行った。 ニュワス公園の池周辺の小道を歩いていると、近くの木の枝から1羽の鳥が飛び出て池の見晴らし台の手すりに止った。 腹部は白く、胸には縦の、腹部には横の縞模様がある。この鳥は英名のRoadside hawkが示すようにパラグアイ全域に住んでいる 小形猛禽類のオオハシノスリらしい。
• May 2, 2015, I went to Nyuwasu park (Parque Ñu Guazu) in the place of about 30 minutes by bus from Asuncion city center. One bird jumped out of the branch of the tree nearby and stopped on the handrail of the gazebo of the pond when I was walking the path around the pond of Ñu Park. The abdomen is white, and there are vertical striped pattern on the chest and horizontal one on the abdomen. This bird seems to be a small raptor Roadside hawk which lives throughout Paraguay as its name indicates.

ニュワス公園の池周辺の小道を歩いていると、近くの木の枝から1羽の鳥が飛び出て池の見晴らし台の手すりに止った。
One bird jumped out of the branch of the tree nearby and stopped on the handrail of the gazebo of the pond when I was walking the path around the pond of Ñu Guazu Park.

この鳥はハトより少し大きい猛禽類で何回か見たアメリカチョウゲンボウに似ていると思った。でも羽の模様が違う、 私にとって初めて見る小さい猛禽類だ。
This bird was a raptor slightly bigger than a dove, and I thought that it resembled the American kestrel which I saw several times. But the pattern of the feather is different from that, and this is a new small raptor for me.

腹部は白く、胸には縦の、腹部には横の縞模様がある。この鳥は英名のRoadside hawkが示すようにパラグアイ全域に住んでいる 小形猛禽類のオオハシノスリらしい。まだ若い固体のようで、人間をそれほど気にする様子はない。
The abdomen is white, and there are vertical striped pattern on the chest and horizontal one on the abdomen. This bird seems to be a small raptor Roadside hawk which lives throughout Paraguay as its name indicates. This bird seems to be still young and is not shy of human being.

約2分後、タカは手すりから飛立ち小道横の木の枝に止った。小道を歩いて行くと木の枝に止っているタカの姿が見えた。 5m位しか離れていないが飛び去る様子もない。逆光条件で良くないがまた写真を撮った。
The hawk flew away from the handrail about two minutes later and stopped on the branch of a path side tree. I saw the figure of the hawk which perched on the branch when I walked the path. The hawk did not have the state to fly away even though I was at about 5m distance. I took photos again though it was in bad condition by the back sun light.

この公園では野鳥をいじめる人間はいないと思うけど、それにしても人間に対する警戒心が薄いね、やはり若いせいかもしれないな。 1日に2種類の新しい鳥に出会えるなんて珍しい。
I don't think there is a human who is cruel to wild birds in this park, but still I think this hawk has little cautiousness for human, after all it may be young fault. It is rare for me to be able to come across two species of new birds a day.

• ノスリが歌い始めた。大きく口を開いて張りのある鳴き声をだす。まるでオペラ歌手のような表情だ。 音声記録はしなかったが、Web上で容易に聞くことが出来る。この歌声はどんな意味を持つのかな？
• The hawk has begun to sing. It opens the mouth widely and gives a forceful tone of voice. It is totally the expression like the opera singer. I did not do the sound record, but we can hear it on Web easily. What kind of meaning does this singing have?

ニュワス公園の散策も終わりかけた11時半頃、私は小さな林に入った。地面は昨日の雨で湿地帯のようになっていた。 長靴を履いてきて良かった。突然、上空から聞き覚えのある鳥の鳴き声が聞こえた。 声の方向を頼りに高い木の枝を見回すと、いた、やはりオオハシノスリだ。
At about half past 11 when the walking of Nu Guazu Park was about to be over, I entered the small forest. The ground was like a damp area by the yesterday’s rain. It was good to come in boots. Suddenly I heard a call of a bird that I could remember from the sky. When I looked around in the branches of the tree counting on a direction of the call, yes, it was, it was the Roadside hawk.

水浸しの草むらに立って見上げていると、ノスリは大きく口を開けて気持ちよさそうに歌っている様子だった。 たぶん20m位しか離れていないが、ノスリはカメラを構えて見ている私を気にする様子はなかった。
When I stood in the damp plain and was looking up, the bird was singing comfortably opening its mouth widely. Probably it was only about 20m apart, but the bird did not seem to be shy of me who was looking at it with camera.

突然頭上低くカラカラが飛んできた。カメラのファインダーからはみ出す程の距離だ。かろうじて写真を撮ったが、 近くを高速で動く動物には焦点がなかなか合わない。
Suddenly, Caracara came flying overhead. It was as close as its figure protruding from the finder of the camera. I barely took a photo, but the focus does not readily fit an animal moving close at high speed.

カラカラガ去ったのでまた木の枝を見上げたらノスリはいなくなっていた。カラカラに驚いたのだろう。 約2分後、またノスリの歌声が響いた。まだ近くにいるようだ。木の枝を見回すとノスリは10m位離れた別の木の枝に移っていた。 今度は木の葉に邪魔されず全身が見える。ノスリは写真の絶好の被写体になってくれた。
The hawk disappeared when I looked up at the branch after the Caracara passed. Probably the hawk surprised the Caracara. About two minutes later, the singing call of the hawk sounded again. It seemed to be still near. When I looked around of trees I found the hawk on the different tree apart about 10m from the first tree. This time, I could see its whole body without being disturbed on leaves. The hawk was then the perfect object of the photo.

オオハシノスリのオス (Male of Roadside hawk)

• 2015年5月23日、ニュワス公園の草原を歩いていると目の前の木の枝に小さいタカが止っているのに気付いた。 残念、全くの逆光状態だ。時と野鳥は人を待たない、このままで撮影するしかない。
• When I strolled in the grassy plain of Nu Guazu park on May 23, 2015, I noticed a small hawk perching on the branch of the tree in front of me. It is regret, a real backlight state. Time and bird wait for no man; I can do nothing but take a photo as it is.

2015年5月23日、ニュワス公園の草原を歩いていると目の前の木の枝に小さいタカが止っているのに気付いた。残念、全くの逆光状態だ。
When I strolled in the grassy plain of Nu Guazu park on May 23, 2015, I noticed a small hawk perching on the branch of the tree in front of me. It is regret, a real backlight state.

残念、全くの逆光状態だ。時と野鳥は人を待たない、このままで撮影するしかない。 撮った写真の明るさを調整してみるとなんとか羽毛の模様が見えてきた。タカの大きさはハトより少し大きい程度であり、 背中は茶色っぽく、腹部は白っぽく横の縞模様がある。頭部は色が濃いようだ。
It is regret, a real backlight state. Time and bird wait for no man; I can do nothing but take a photo as it is. The pattern of the feather is visible after I adjusted the brightness of the photo which I took. The size of the hawk is slightly bigger than the dove, the back is brownish, and abdomen is whitish with horizontal striped pattern. The head seems to have dark color.

飛んだ時、尾羽に縞模様があり、風切羽の上の面が淡色に見えた。オオハシノスリのオスと思われる。
When the hawk flew, it was seen that the tail feather had a striped pattern and the top surface of the flight feather had light color. The hawk seems to be a male Roadside hawk.

道路横に現れたオオハシノスリ、パラグアイ国チャコ地方 (Roadside hawk appeared on the roadside of Chaco district in Paraguay)

• 2015年8月6 ? 8日、アスンシオンから車で約5時間の場所にあるチャコ地方のLoma Plataに旅行した。 8月8日、Loma Plataからアスンシオンに車で国道9号線を通って帰った。道路の左右にはチャコ地方に特徴的な原野が広がる。 途中、草原に大形の鳥の群がいるのが見えた。道路からかなり遠い場所だったが、車を止めてもらって写真を撮った。 車に戻ろうとすると、道路横の電線に小さいタカが飛んできたのでこの写真も撮った。鳥の群はエンビコウ、タカはオオハシノスリのようだ。
• On August 6 ? 8, 2015, six of us traveled around Loma Plata of the Chaco district in Paraguay which located about five hours from Asuncion by car. On August 8, we came back from Loma Plata to Asuncion by car through Route 9. I saw that there was a flock of large birds on the way on the grassy plain. It was considerably far from the road, but I asked to stop the car and took photos. When I was going back to the car, a small hawk flew towards the electric wire beside the road, and then I took photos it again. The large bird seems Maguari stork and the hawk seems Roadside hawk.

2015年8月8日、Loma Plataからアスンシオンに車で国道9号線を通って帰った。道路の左右にはチャコ地方に特徴的な原野が広がる。 途中、草原に大形の鳥の群がいるのが見えた。道路からかなり遠い場所だったが、車を止めてもらって写真を撮った。 車に戻ろうとすると、道路横の電線に小さいタカが飛んできたのでこの写真も撮った。
On August 8, 2015, we came back from Loma Plata to Asuncion by car through Route 9. I saw that there was a flock of large birds on the way on the grassy plain. It was considerably far from the road, but I asked to stop the car and took photos. When I was going back to the car, a small hawk flew towards the electric wire beside the road, and then I took photos it again.

速いスピードで飛んで来て細い枝などに止る時には、鳥は全身の重心が滑らかに停止するように姿勢を巧みに制御する。 見ていると、鳥は両足を同時には着かないようだ。
When a bird is going to stop on some thin branch from flying at fast speed, it controls its posture skillfully so that the center of gravity of the whole body stops smoothly. It does not seem to touch with both legs at the same time.
