初めて見るタニシトビ, Snail kite, first encounter for me

• 2015年7月19日、晴れて冬にしては暑い日になった。いつものようにニュワス公園を5kmのジョギングコースに沿って散歩した。 草原にいた時、突然中型のタカが飛んで来て木の枝に止った。撮った写真から、この鳥は初めて見るトビと分かった。 昼近くなったので帰ろうとして出口近く歩いていたらやや遠い林の上をタカが飛んでいるのが見えた。 先ほどのタカがこっちに飛んできたのかな、と思ったがまた写真を撮った。撮った写真を見ると、これは別種のタカで、以前見たノスリのようだ。
• On July 19, 2015, it was fine, and it was a hot day for winter. I strolled in Nu Guazu Park as usual along the jogging course of 5km. When I was on the grassy plain, a medium-sized hawk suddenly flew in and perched on the branch of the tree. From the photos I took, this bird was identified as Snail kite to see for the first time for me. When I was walking near the entrance of the park to return home because it was almost noon time, I saw a hawk flew over a slightly far-off forest. I wondered whether the hawk which I saw some time ago flew here, but I took photos again. From the photos I took, this bird was a hawk of another species that I saw before.

2015年7月19日、晴れて冬にしては暑い日になった。いつものようにニュワス公園を5kmのジョギングコースに沿って散歩した。 草原にいた時、突然中型のタカが飛んで来て木の枝に止った。
On July 19, 2015, it was fine, and it was a hot day for winter. I strolled in Nu Guazu Park as usual along the jogging course of 5km. When I was on the grassy plain, a medium-sized hawk suddenly flew in and perched on the branch of the tree.

飛んできたタカはやや太い木の枝の先に止った。
The hawk which came flowing perched on the point of the branch of a slightly big tree.

タカは止って左右を見回している。タカは私を見たのかな、でも気にする様子はない。
The hawk is looking around right and left. Does the bird look at me? But it does not seem to be shy of me.

タカは木の枝にしばらく止っていたので明瞭な写真を撮れたが約1分後にまた飛び立った。
Because the hawk was standing on the branch of the tree for a while, I could take clear photos, but it flew up again about one minute later.

飛んでいた時、翼の模様は前方が黒っぽく、後方が白っぽく見えたので以前見たオビオノスリかなと思った。
I saw the design pattern of the wing to be blackish in front and whitish in rear, then I thought this hawk might be the Zone-tailed hawk that I saw before.

タカは私の頭上を飛んだので翼と腹部の模様がよく見えた。なぜ私の頭上を飛んだのかな？ 危険動物かどうか確認したのかもしれない。
Since the hawk flew over me, I could see wing and abdominal design very well. Why did the hawk fly over me? The hawk might confirm whether I was a dangerous animal or not.

撮った明瞭な写真を拡大して見た。タカの湾曲した細く長いくちばしに驚いた。腹部の明瞭な縦縞模様も気になる。 このような模様は他の鳥でもメスや幼鳥に見られる。顔つきや巧みな飛行術を見ると幼鳥ではなさそうだ。 とすれば、このタカはタニシトビのメスではないだろうか。
I enlarged the clear photo I took. I was surprised at the long, thin and curved bill. I am also keeping in mind the abdominal clear vertical stripes. Such a pattern is seen in a female and a young bird in other birds. It does not seem to be a young bird when I watch its look and good aviation. This hawk may be the female Snail kite.

飛び立ったタカはまた着地姿勢をとったので連続して撮影してみた。先方には細い木の枝がある。
I tried to take photos sequentially of the hawk, because it took a landing attitude again. There is a thin tree branch in front of the bird.

木の枝が細いので、タカは翼を広げてバランスを取っている。
Because the branch of the tree is thin, the hawk widens wings and is keeping the balance.

なぜこんな細い木の枝に止ろうとしたのかな？尾羽の付根と覆いが白いことが良く分かる。
Why was the hawk going to perch on the branch of such a thin tree? It is clear that the tail feather and its cover are white.

タカは止り心地がよくないようで、向きを変えようとしている。
The hawk does not seem to be in good feeling on the branch and it is going to change the direction.

タカは約90度回転した位置に止って翼を閉じた。よくこんな細い木の枝に安定して止っていられるね、拍手。 2,3分後、タカはまたこの木の枝から飛び立ち元の太い木の枝に戻った。カメラを構えて見ている私に、格好良い所を見せてやろう、 と言っているかのような行動だった。
The hawk stopped and closed the wings after turned about 90 degrees. Wonderful! Clap my hands for skillful perching on such a thin branch. Two or three minutes later, the hawk returned to the last branch of the big tree from this thin branch. It was an action that the Snail kite seemed to tell me “I’ll show you my cool action.”

タカは安定した木の枝にジッとしているので、私はその場を離れてやや遠くからまた写真を撮った。 ふと横を見ると近くの木の枝にカラカラがいる。やあ、こんにちは。
Because the hawk stood still on the branch of the stable tree, I left the place and took a photo again from a little far away. I saw a Caracara when I looked at the side incidentally. “How are you doing?”

私がさらに近寄ったら、カラカラは飛び去ってタカの止っている木の枝に止ろうとした。 カラカラが近づいて来たので、タカは飛び立ちまた私のいる方向に飛んできた。 私は、カラカラの方が体は大きいので、タカは追い出されたのかな、と思った。でも、これは必ずしも当たっていなかった。 近くに飛んできたタカは明らかに私を見下ろしている。なぜかな？
When I approached more, the caracara flew away and was going to stop to the branch of the tree where the hawk perched on. Because the caracara approached, the hawk flew again in the direction where I was. I thought whether the hawk was thrown away by the caracara having a bigger body. But this did not necessarily prove right. The hawk which flew near is clearly looking down at me. Why is it?

タカは旋回してまた止っていた木の枝の方向に飛んだ。そこにはカラカラが止っている。止り心地の良い枝の争奪戦でもするのかな？
The hawk turned and flew to the direction of the branch where it was sitting. Now the caracara was there. Are they going to fight for the good feeling branch?

予想は外れた。カラカラは木の枝に止ったままだ。近づいたタカは近くのより低い木の枝に止った。 10分位見ていたが、お互いに無関心の様子。
My expectations were off. The caracara was standing still on the branch. The hawk which approached perched on the branch of a lower tree near by. I was watching them for about 10 minutes, but they seemed to be in indifference each other.

約12分後、カラカラは飛立った。タカはまた止り心地の良い木の枝に移った。カラカラとタニシトビの間に闘争心など全くない様子だった。 両者とも地上の餌を探すので見晴らしの良いこの木の枝が気に入ったのかもしれない。
After about twelve minutes, the caracara took off from the branch. The hawk moved again to the good feeling branch. I did not see any fighting between the Snail kite and the Southern crested caracara. Because they both look for bait on the ground, they might like the branch of this good tree of view.
