2014年6月21日、アスンシオン中心街からやや遠い大きな公園に行った。広い敷地に沢山の樹木が茂っていて、池も2つある。池には黒く大きいカモとスリムなカモがいた。スリムなカモは足も長く顔を見なければ別の科の水鳥かなと思うほどだ。
June 21, 2014, I went to a large park a little farther from downtown Asuncion. Many trees are growing there and also two ponds are. There were two kinds of ducks, big black one and slim one. The latter one has log legs and is slim enough to think it would be another family of waterfowl if we do not see its face.

この公園に住み着いて家禽のように人馴れしている。中央アメリカから南アメリカ中北部にかけて分布し、アカハシリュウキュウガモの和名を持つカモだ。
