カンムリカラカラ (Caracara plancus)

• Wikipedia: 草原や農地など開けた環境に生息します。小型哺乳類や鳥類、昆虫類、爬虫類、カエルなどを捕食することもありますが、 生きた獲物を捕らえるのはそれ程得意ではなく、動物の死骸も食べます。

ニュワス公園のカラカラ（Caracara at Parque Ñu Guazu）

2014年8月2日、アスンシオンのニュワス公園(Parque Ñu Guazu)を散歩した。今回、カラカラを身近に見ることができた。
August 2, 2014, I took a walk in the park Nyuwasu, Asuncion (Parque Ñu Guazu). This time, I was able to see Caracara very closely.

このカラカラはニュワス公園に住みついているようだ。前回も飛ぶ姿を見たが今回は地上にいる姿を見た。
This Caracara seems to be settled in Nyuwasu park. I also saw its flying figure last time, and saw it on the ground this time.

このカラカラは公園に住みついて人馴れしているようだ。数メートル位まで近寄ったら飛立った。尾羽の白と黒の模様が良く分かる。
This Caracara seems to be accustomed to people through living in the park. It flew away when I approached it within several meters. The black and white pattern of the tail feathers can be seen clearly.

2014年7月5日、アスンシオンのニュワス公園(Parque Ñu Guazu)を散歩した。突然カラカラが頭上を飛んで近くの木の枝に止った。
August 2, 2014, I took a walk in the park Nyuwasu, Asuncion (Parque Ñu Guazu). Suddenly Caracara flew overhead and perched on the branch of a tree nearby.

カラカラの飛ぶ姿（Flying figure of Caracara）

2014年12月27日、アスンシオンのニュワス公園(Parque Ñu Guazu)を散歩した。今回、カラカラの飛ぶ姿を身近に見ることができた。
December 27, 2014, I took a walk in the park Nyuwasu, Luque (Parque Ñu Guazu). This time, I was able to see the flying figure of Caracara very closely.

風切羽、尾羽の一部と首が白っぽく黒っぽい帽子をかぶっているように見えるのでこの鳥はカンムリカラカラだろう。
This bird would be Southern Crested Caracara because it has whitish neck, remix and a part of the tail and black cap on the head.

ニュワス公園で見たカラカラの食事（Diet of Caracara seen at Parque Ñu Guazu）

公園の池に近づくと近くの木の枝にカラカラが2羽止っていた。1羽が飛び去り1羽が残った。
When I approached the pond in the park two Caracaras were perching on the branch of a nearby tree. One bird flew away and another bird remained.

カラカラが飛び去った方向に歩いて行くと、遠くに餌をくわえているカラカラの姿が見えた。以前、この場所でカラカラが休んでいる姿を2回見かけたことがある。この辺りはカラカラの餌場なのだろうか？
When I walked in the direction where Caracara flew away I could see the figure of Caracara baiting a prey in the distance. Sometimes earlier, I saw twice Caracara was resting in this place. I wonder if this area is a feeding ground of Caracara?

ズームインして見ると、カラカラがくわえているのは中型の鳥のようだ。肉は新鮮に見えるので死体を拾ったものとは考えにくい。この大きさの鳥となると、ナンベイタゲリ、ナンベイレンカクやハトが考えられる。カラカラは見られているのが気になったようで、餌をくわえてさらに遠くに飛び去った。
Viewing in zoom, Caracara is baiting like a medium sized bird. It is unlikely that Caracara picked up the corpse because the meat looks so fresh. When it comes to birds of this size, Southern Lapwing, Wattled Jacana and Dove can be considered. Caracara seems to have worried about being seen by me and flew away in the distance with food.

この場所でもカラカラはまだ餌を全部食べきれていない。また飛び去った。 しばらく後に最初の木のところに戻ると同じ場所に1羽のカラカラがいる。口や体を動かしている。餌をもらったのかな？
Caracara has not finished eating the food also in this place. It flew away again. Sometimes later I returned to the first place of the tree. One Caracara is perching just on the same branch. It is moving body and mouth. I wonder if is it fed some food??

カラカラが羽を広げてバランスを取っている。羽の模様が良く分かる。
Caracara is taking the balance by spreading its wings. Pattern of the wings can be seen well.

CITEC構内のカラカラ（Caracara at the CITEC）

2013年4月26日、午後5時過ぎ帰宅するため職場のアスンシオン大学工学部CITECの外に出たら大きい鳥が飛んでいくのを見た、 ワシかタカかな？ここで見かけるのは3回目だ。どうやら大学校舎をねぐらにしているハト軍団をねらって飛来するらしい。 願いを聞き入れてくれたようで割りと近くの木に止まってくれた。もっと良いカメラだったらもう少し鮮明に撮れたのに、 モデル料は払わないよ、でもありがとう。（パラグアイ・ルケ市 2013/4/26 17:21, EX-ZR100）

I was walking around the Asuncion city center. I looked up and saw a big bird flying grandly in the sky near the Presidential Palace. I immediately tried to take a photo. I got it. Thanks for relatively low flying I can see the pattern of the wing. Grandly Caracara flies over the sky of the capital.
