- 2015年11月14日、メトロポリタン公園の散歩道沿いの数本の木の枝に小鳥のつり巣を見かける。 その巣は細い木の枝の先に小さい小枝を集めて作られている。巣を作った鳥を見たいとずっと思っていた。 もう夏なので巣作りは終わったのかなと諦めかけていたら、暑いこの日に見ることが出来た。巣の主はカマドドリ科の小鳥だった。 セアカカマドドリは泥で精巧な巣を作る。このオオアレチカマドドリはトゲを持つ小枝で精巧なつり巣を作る。カマドドリは建築家のDNAを持っているようだ。
- On October 24, 2015, I see the hanging nest of some small bird to the branch of several trees along the promenade of Guazu Metropolitano Park. The nest is made of small twigs assembled skillfully and suspended from the end of a branch. I have long been wanted to see the bird which prepared the nest. I was beginning to give up seeing because it was in summer and making of nest might be over. Fortunately I was able to watch the bird on this hot summer day. The owner of the nest was a small bird of the ovenbird family. Rufous hornero makes a precise nest with mud. This Greater thornbird makes a precise suspended nest with twigs having thorns. The ovenbird seems to have DNA of the architect.
2015年11月14日、ニュワス公園と北西に接するもう一つの大きい公園であるGuazu Metropolitano Parkの両方を散歩した。
湖散歩道(Paseo Laguna TOTAL: 2930mts)を歩いて行くとプリンシパル湖（Laguna Principal）がある。この散歩道沿いの数本の木の枝に小鳥のつり巣を見かける。
その巣は細い木の枝の先に小さい小枝を集めて作られている。巣を作った鳥を見たいとずっと思っていた。
On October 24, 2015, I strolled in Nu Guazu Park and adjacent Guazu Metropolitano Park which was another big park contracted northwest of
Nu Guazu Park. Walking the Lake promenade (Paseo Laguna TOTAL: 2930mts) I reached Principals Lake.
I see the hanging nest of some small bird to the branch of several trees along this promenade.

その巣は細い木の枝の先に小さい小枝を集めて作られている。巣を作った鳥を見たいとずっと思っていた。

巣の主はカマドドリ科のオオアレチカマドドリだった。姿と色はセアカカマドドリと似ているが大変目立つ金色の目と尾羽の形が異なる。

カマドドリは小さい入口から巣に入った。カマドドリはトゲのある小枝を絡み合わせて巣を作っているが中には軟らかい枯草を敷いている。
The ovenbird entered into the nest from a small entrance. The ovenbird is making the nest of twigs with thorn intertwined
with each other, but spreads soft dry grasses inside.

カマドドリは約7分後にくちばしに小枝を銜えて戻ってきた。拡大して見るとトゲのある小枝であることが分かった。
カマドドリはトゲのある小枝を絡み合わせて巣を作っているが中には軟らかい枯草を敷いている。カマドドリは賢い建築家だ。
The ovenbird returned to the nest with a twig in its bill approximately seven minutes later.
Expanding the photo revealed that it was a twig with thorns. The ovenbird is making the nest of twigs with thorn intertwined
with each other, but spreads soft dry grasses inside. The ovenbird is a smart architect.

Greater thornbird came back after 7 minutes from leaving the nest last time. It brought a twig this time in its bill.

入口周辺に小枝を置こうとしている。拡大して見ると小枝には鋭いトゲがある。

オオアレチカマドドリは小枝を取り付けた後に入口から巣に入った。中に入っても尾羽が見えている。中はそれほど広くはないようだ。
Greater thornbird entered in the nest after attaching the twig. The tail of the entered bird is still out of the nest. The living space seems not so large.

オオアレチカマドドリは先ほど巣を離れてから6分後に戻ってきた。今度は前回より大きい小枝を持ってきた。その小枝を巣の上部に設置している。他の小枝と絡み合わせるようなことはしていない。小枝にはトゲがあるので、何本か置けば自然に絡み合うのではないか。
Greater thornbird came back after 6 minutes from leaving the nest last time. It brought a bigger twig than the last time and installed it in the upper part of the nest this time. The bird does not let the twig intertwine with other twigs. The twigs may intertwine with each other naturally after they are put many because they have thorns.

巣に入ってもやはり尾羽がはみ出ている。巣の中で小鳥は居住空間の調整をしているようだ。この小鳥は何とすばらしい建築家なのだ！
Even if the bird entered the nest the tail feather protrudes after all. The bird seems to be adjusting the living space in the nest. What a splendid architect this small bird is!
