飛ぶナンベイレンカク （Flying Wattled jacana）

• ニュワス公園の池でよくナンベイレンカクを見かける。飛んでいる姿の写真を撮りたい。 翼を広げた時に見えるそのパターンは意外性があり面白い。でも小さい鳥なのでなかなか自動焦点が合わない。
• I see Wattled jacana well at the pond in Nu Guazu Park. I want to take the photograph of a flying figure. The pattern of the wing that is seen when it is opened is sometimes in unexpected variation patterns and interesting. But an automatic focus does not readily match because the object is a small bird.

ナンベイレンカクは南米でポピュラーな水鳥だ。背中は濃い栗色で他の部分は黒い。 黄色い嘴はオオバンのヘッドシールドのように伸び赤味がかった肉垂がある。
Wattled Jacana is the popular waterfowl in South America. It has a chestnut back and wing coverts, with the rest of the body mainly black. The yellow bill extends up as a red coot-like head shield and a reddish wattle.

別種かと思うほど色が違うがこれはナンベイレンカクの幼鳥だ。脚と足の指は青灰色であり大変長く湿地帯を歩くのに適応している。
The color is different enough to think another species, but this is a young bird of Wattled Jacana. The legs and toes are dull blue-gray and very long adapting to walk the wetlands.

ナンベイレンカクの背中は濃い栗色で他の部分は黒い。翼を広げると薄いベージュ色の風切り羽が目立ち翼のパターンの意外性に驚く。 沼の水辺に着地しようとするナンベイレンカクをカメラで追ってみた。
Wattled Jacana has a chestnut back and wing coverts, with the rest of the body mainly black. When the bird opens the wing thin beige flight feather is outstanding, and unlikelihood of the pattern of the wing is supprising. I chased the Wattled jacana by camera which was going to land on the shore.

鳥は大きく翼を広げ飛ぶスピードを落とします。
The bird widely spread the wings and drops the speed of the flight.

鳥は目的地にピタリと着地するために翼と脚をたくみに操っているようです。着地して翼をたたむと白っぽい風切り羽は全く隠れる。 どのように折りたたまれているのか不思議だ。
The bird seems to handle the wings and legs skillfully to land at the exact destination. When the bird makes a landing and folds the wings, the whitish flight feather totally hides. It is strange how they are folded.

ニュワス公園のナンベイレンカク （Wattled jacana living in Ñu guazu Park）

2014年6月21日、アスンシオン中心街からやや遠い大きな公園に行った。広い敷地に沢山の樹木が茂っていて、池も2つある。 池の水辺にクイナのような鳥がいた。脚と足の指は青灰色であり大変長く湿地帯を歩くのに適応している。背中は濃い栗色で他の部分は黒い。 黄色い嘴はオオバンのヘッドシールドのように伸び赤味がかった肉垂がある。南米でポピュラーな水鳥ナンベイレンカクだ。 離れた水辺に色は違うが姿の似た水鳥がいた。別種かと思うほど色が違うがこれはナンベイレンカクの幼鳥らしい。
June 21, 2014, I went to a large park a little farther from downtown Asuncion. Many trees are growing there and also two ponds are. There was a bird like the water rail at the waterside of the pond. The legs and toes are dull blue-gray and very long adapting to walk the wetlands. It has a chestnut back and wing coverts, with the rest of the body mainly black. The yellow bill extends up as a red coot-like head shield and a reddish wattle. It is the Wattled Jacana popular in South America. There was a waterfowl that is similar to that in appearance but color is very different at the waterside away. The color is different enough to think another species, but this seems to be a young bird of Wattled Jacana.

2014年8月2日、アスンシオンのニュワス公園(Parque Nuguazu)を散歩した。今回、ナンベイレンカクの交尾シーンに出会った。
August 2, 2014, I took a walk in the park Nyuwasu, Asuncion (Parque Nuguazu). This time, I met copulation scene of the Wattled Jacana.

離れた水辺に色は違うが姿の似た水鳥がいた。
There was a waterfowl that is similar to that in appearance but color is very different at the waterside away.

2014年8月2日、アスンシオンのニュワス公園(Parque Nuguazu)を散歩した。前回に続き、ナンベイレンカクの親子を見ることができた。
August 2, 2014, I took a walk in the park Nyuwasu, Asuncion (Parque Nuguazu). Same as the previous time, I was able to see parent and child of the Wattled Jacana.

ナンベイレンカクの幼鳥は別種かと思うほど色が違うが、前回から42日後、嘴から伸びる赤っぽいヘッドシールドと肉垂が 親と同じくらいに成長している。足の指が異常なほど長く、水草の上を歩くことに適している。この鳥はこの環境適応力を生かし南米に広く分布している。
The color of the young bird of Wattled Jacanais is different enough to think another species, but after 42 days from the previous time a red coot-like head shield and a reddish wattle have grown alomst the same size of its parent. Toes of this bird are unusually long, and it is suitable to walk on water plants. This bird is widely distributed in South America taking advantage of this environment adaptability.
