It is found in central and northeast Argentina; also the caatinga, and pantanal regions of Brazil, then Paraguay, Bolivia, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and heavily degraded former forest.
2014年6月21日、アスンシオン中心街からやや遠い大きな公園に行った。広い敷地に沢山の樹木が茂っていて、池も2つある。池の近くの木の梢に白い小鳥がいた。2度目に見るシロタイランチョウだ。飛ぶ虫を見つけると止まり木から瞬発的に飛び出し空中で虫を追いまた戻る。最初見た時は曇りで距離も遠かった。その時より鮮明な写真を撮りたい。
June 21, 2014, I went to a large park a little farther from downtown Asuncion. Many trees are growing there and also two ponds are. A small white bird is perching on the top of the tree near the pond. It is the White Monjita to see a second time. It usually catches insects in mid-air, after a short sally flight from a perch. When I saw it first it was cloudy and distance was also far. I want to take more vivid pictures than that time.

輝くほど白い体と黒く縁取られた羽、極端な明暗を配した絶妙なデザインだ。カメラの明るさを数段落としてシャッターを切った。白い姿が自然に見える絵を得た。
White body enough to shine with black fringed wings, it is an exquisite design with extreme brightness contrast. I took pictures by setting the brightness several steps down. I got pictures that the white figure looks natural.

ほんと、純白の羽毛だ、それが黒く縁取られている。初めて見る白タイランチョウだ。
Really, it has pure white feathers, it is bordered in black. It is the White Monjita I saw for the first time .
虫捕り飛行をして別のポールに移動した。虫を捕るしぐさはベニタイランチョウと似ている。
The bird moved to another pole after a sally flight for a insect. Gesture to catch insects is similar to that of Vermillion flycatcher.

小鳥は杭の上から空中や地上の虫を探しているんでしょう、周囲を見回している。輝くような純白の羽毛と黒い縁、絶妙なこの小鳥の後姿です。
The bird is looking around the air and ground searching insects while perching on the pole. Shining white feather with black edge is an exquisite back figure of this bird.
